Joss Whedon Calls Out ‘Jurassic World’ Clip, Labels It Sexist
Joss Whedon posted a critique of the new Jurassic World clip that was released this week, comparing the dynamic between the film’s leading man and woman to that of a 70s-era narrative where the female character’s “stiffness” is meant to accentuate the male character’s vitality. We sort of can’t help but imagine that some of Whedon’s convictions are derived from the fact that his upcoming blockbuster film will have to duke it out with Jurassic World at the box office this summer, but it’s not a wholly unfair critique.

‘Suicide Squad’ Nods To ‘The Killing Joke’
Remember what happened last time a current Batman property decided to pay homage to The Killing Joke? Yeah, so, David Ayer tweeted a photo of Jared Leto as The Joker in Suicide Squad, his forthcoming film. Leto is holding a camera in a way that mimics a frame from the infamous comic. Of course the photo is very different from the variant cover that launched a thousand internet ships last month, in very important ways (i.e. it doesn’t feature a distraught female character), but we still can’t help feeling like maybe The Killing Joke should just be left alone for a while.

Ant-Man
A still photo has been released from the upcoming Ant-Man film, which shows the villain, Yellowjacket, in his armor. Also if you have a discerning eye, you can see Ant-Man, all tiny and shrunken down to ant size, jumping in front of Yellowjacket. We must admit, this looks pretty cool.

Cave Of Forgotten Dreams Replica
The Chauvet-Pont-d’Arc Cave, which is the subject of Werner Herzog’s 2010 documentary called The Cave of Forgotten Dreams, is the site of the world’s oldest and best-preserved cave paintings. To keep the cave in its pristine condition, it is closed to the public. But that no longer means that you can’t see the cave paintings for yourself. The images and interior topography of the cave have been reproduced with considerable effort by imaging specialists. The attraction, just miles away from the actual cave, will be open for visitors later this month. Learn more about the project and see photos of it here.

While we think this is cool and we’re obviously going to be buying ourselves one, we do feel like we should urge anyone planning to purchase and don this suit to be careful, whatever you choose to do with it.

Uber Rickshaw
In a move that is either ridiculously cool or cooly ridiculous, Uber announced via Twitter that it’s launching a rickshaw requesting service in India, specifically, in New Delhi. The three-wheeled rickshaws, known colloquially as autos, can now be requested via Uber. The rickshaws have motors, mind you, making them more akin to golf carts than wagons. There is one crucial difference between this feature and regular Uber: you must pay in cash. Since auto drive fees are set by the state, you pay the driver directly rather than through the Uber app. On one hand, it defeats at least half the purpose of using Uber, on the other hand, rickshaws. If you’re in New Delhi please try this out and tell us how it goes.

Google To End Spoilers Forever
Quartz is reporting that Google has developed a patent for a system that would help keep spoilers out of your social media feeds. The system would work silently, effortlessly in the background by using data about which shows you’re watching and how far along you are taken from streaming sites that you use, and cross-referencing details that your friends and others post on social media, essentially creating a filter that blocks any spoiler-laden post before you’re sufficiently caught up. Welcome to the twenty-first century, folks.
